Kadayawan is a yearly celebration here in Davao city. We celebrate it on the second week of August.This week long celebration is kind, of a thanksgiving festivity, that is for the bountiful harvest of fruits, flowers and other crops as well.

There are lots of activities held during this week. Street dancing is one of them. This is a dance parade, participated by different schools all over Davao, and the neighboring provinces. All participants are by group of fifties or a hundred. Dancers are required to wear colorful design costume that made the dancers lovely and add the attraction of the event.

Floral parade is another spectacular in this event. See for yourself a beautiful floats mostly adorns with different flowers, like roses, orchids, and mums, all are in real that perfumed the city street as the float pass by. Not only that, every float is carrying with them a lovely lady: ladies who won the beauty pageant held in line with the celebration.

Fruits are most visible around the corner. Mangoes, bananas, lanzones, mangosten and the city pride,durian. All fruits are in best bargain price since this is the peak season.

August is only a weeks away, if you plan to visit Davao, make it on Kadayawan because the city has more to offer than the rest of the month.
