This is langka (jack fruit) sold in a local market here in Davao. This is a big fruit but has peeled already. The taste is very sweet and the smell is fragrance. This is one of my son’s favorite.
I LOVE jackfruit! It is one of my few memories as a baby in Bangladesh – we moved to the US when I was 3 1/2. (Strange how most of my Bengali memories are about food.)
I don’t think I’ve had fresh jackfruit since then, though the canned stuff is enough to get my memories going.

hmmmm… interesting. I’ve never heard of jack fruit. I’ll be sure to try it if I ever come across it.
Salamat sa pagshare. Hmm, I can still rememer the smell of a new ripe jackfruit. Those are the days…
Haven’t tried the dried but I much prefer the fresh one. Here, you can only get it canned.
