while surfing the web!

Friday
Jan 30,2009

I was surfing the web, when I read an article about Qwest Communications. Actually this is the first time I have heard about it. I got interested and read through the paragraphs. I’ve learned that it is a large telecommunication’s carrier that provides local service to 14 western U.S. states. It provides services like phone both local and international, internet, and direct TV.

Well, I’m pretty much interested with Qwest DSL Service because of the speed it could provide. I am dying to get a better internet speed for a long time. Although I am happy right now after we get an upgrade from dial up to a broadband. Still it could not compensate my surfing and blogging needs. Our DSL provider says that we can use up to three computers without the hassle of long loading. However, they could not live with their promises. I wonder why? Yes we could run two computers but the loading is like turtle running competition.

I thought that if we could get Qwest as our provider, it would be better. The problem now is that we are not in the US. So, I still have to settle with my low speed internet. I always asked when my provider will upgrade its services. I have to wait for that. Slow is still better than have nothing at all.

  • many times in my life…

    Friday

There are many times in my life that I feel like I need space. Being a mother and a wife, is not an easy task. Sometimes, I feel suffocated and want to be away, to be in a place that is far from my life. In other words, I want to spend a Single holiday for me to recharge. I want pamper myself with the beauty of life without thinking of my role. Even if I’m married and have responsibilities at home, I still need to have some life of my own. Spending it alone is the best way I know, to breathe fresh air and to be able to compose myself for my loved ones.

It may sound complicated, but Singles holiday is really fun and invigorating. I don’t know if this holds true to other women out there since the thought of it, especially if this is the first time, is really intimidating. I also have difficulty when I first started a trip alone. I only enjoy it by joining a group of single travelers within my area. Thanks to my friend who invited me in to go together with their group.

I have done Solo holidays several times and would want to do it somewhere far like other countries for instance. Well, out of the country trip will surely need more money than that trip I am making here in my country. I think I need my partner’s income on this one.

  • obesity: growing concern for parents!

    Thursday
    Jan 22,2009

For almost a decade now, childhood obesity is a growing concern for parents as well as healthcare professionals. Being overweight brings serious health concerns for children including diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and orthopedic problems, such as increased stress on joints. Self-esteem also often decreases when children are overweight.

Why are more children overweight? Basically, genetic factors play a role in a child’s risk of being overweight, but obesity rates have tripled in the past 30 years, while genes have not changed. That means that the recent widespread obesity problem is primarily caused by environmental factors.

In other words, genes are not the problem for the vast majority of people. Instead, two-thirds of obesity would vanish, he says, if society could revert back to the way it did certain things 40 years ago. Environmental factors that have changed since then include: what are we eating, how active we are and the family structure we have. Parents can think back to their childhood to what they ate and what they did for activities. In many cases, it is vastly different than what many families eat and do today.

  • great way to block out distractions!

Whether you are at work or at home, studying or relaxing, wearing a set of noise cancellation headphones is a great way to block out distractions and get some peace. With traditional headphones, you have to crank the volume up to mask out the background noise. The excessive volume you have to use to block out the unwanted sound can permanently damage your hearing. With noise cancelation headphones, you can listen at a much lower volume and still hear all the delicate details of your music. The Direct Sound EX-29 headphones are passive noise reduction headphones. They don’t use batteries so there is no added, hidden cost of ownership. You also don’t get that swooshing noise like you do with active noise cancelation headphones making the Direct Sound headphones ideal for studio mixing, language learning, or any other setting where you need to hear the fine details of your audio source.

  • dream of travelling abroad

    Tuesday
    Jan 20,2009

When I was still younger, I used to dream of travelling abroad. This dream did not materialize now that I am already a mother of five. Two of my children already graduated from college. And I am open to them about my frustrations in life. They comforted me by gradually giving the things that I dream. Of course, I am happy about that.

My eldest daughter is planning of visiting Australia that makes me very excited about it because she oftentimes keeps her word. She promised me and her dad to go with her if that time comes. As an excited mom, I checked for hotels in Australia. I found Port Macquarie Hotels, Coffs Harbour Hotels and Byron Bay Hotels. I’ve heard that these hotels are good quality but very affordable. I am praying that my daughter’s plan pursue soon and not later.

  • easy cleaning…

cleaningmaterialsBeing a mom of 5, it is so difficult to finish every chore at home without the help of another’s hand. But I can’t afford somebody to help me especially during classes. Good thing I found this simple and easy tips to help me clean the house.

It will be beneficial to have handy wipes nearby. Keep two packs of disposable wipes—one for glass surfaces and another all-purpose—under the bathroom sink. Whip out the wipes periodically to touch up mirrors, faucets, and the rim of the toilet, rather than doing one major cleaning.

It is recommended to spray daily, hitting heavy germ areas the kitchen sink, TV remote, door handles, and phones at least once a day with a spray of disinfectant cleaner.

Another thing, it is much better to equip your entryway. On the outside, stick a stiff-bristled brush your family can use to prevent unwanted dirt from sneaking in. Inside, protect your floor with a mat made of a durable synthetic material.
