help-save-environmentIf you have committed yourself to helping save the environment, then you must turn your attention to using environment friendly products. One aspect is through conserving power and one way to do it is using more efficient lighting. I’m pointing to led lighting. It is an energy-efficient, low maintenance bulb that cost only pennies a day. It is perfect for places that should be left with lights-on such as bathrooms, hallways, parking lots, walkways and so on. Surely, led lights will not only help you participate in saving the environment, it will also help you save real money. I bet you would want to have extra cash for other stuff.

Today for a business to grow competitively, it should use some promotional tools. Being complacent with their current status in the market place is a big no. There are so many competitors playing in the market, all are craving for greater market share. Even if you are in the top position, there is a big chance that those businesses that are using promotional advertise or items like promotional pens for example, will take over the spot. To remain competitive and redolent to customers, a company must exert effort and money on things that work.

  • Grilled Vegetables in Pasta

grilled-vegetables-in-pastaLooking to replace your old eating habits with some healthy new recipes? A good way to begin is by looking for alternatives to your favorite foods. Don’t go all-in from day one if you want your healthy drive to last more than a couple of weeks. Take things one step at a time, and try to gradually eliminate all the unhealthy foods by replacing them with something similar, minus the fatty sauce or the unhealthy portion size. For example, replace spaghetti and meatballs with this recipe for pasta with chopped grilled vegetables and marinara sauce – it’s just as tasty, but cuts the calorie intake in half and reduces fat by three-fourths.

    What you need:

    • 8 ounces whole-wheat spaghetti
    • 10 large fresh tomatoes, peeled and diced
    • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
    • 1 zucchini, sliced lengthwise
    • 2 red peppers, sliced into chunks
    • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
    • 1 sweet onion, sliced into 1/4-inch-wide rounds
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or 1 teaspoon dried basil
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

    Procedure:
The first step is to make the marinara sauce. In a heavy cast iron pan, heat 1 tablespoon of the olive oil and add the tomatoes, garlic, chopped onions, sugar, salt, basil, oregano and pepper. Simmer the mixture without covering it for about half an hour, until the sauce thickens.

Then prepare a hot fire in a charcoal grill or heat a gas grill, coat the grill rack with olive oil or cooking spray and place it 4 to 6 inches away from the heat source. Then, brush the red peppers, zucchini and sweet onion with the rest of the oil and grill them until they are tender, turning them when needed to ensure even cooking. Then place the vegetables in a separate bowl and cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain it thoroughly, divide it among the individual plates and top with the sauce and the vegetables.

My husband and I were watching TV, when we tackle the idea of buying a tv stand. I saw one last week on the web. It is an elegant antique type of stand which will hold 32″ – 60″ of flat screen tv. Plus it has lots of compartment so we can arrange our stacks of DVD’s. We are just talking about it. I don’t know if we will be able to get one since there are so many things that must be taken care first. It doesn’t hurt to create thoughts like this so we would have some goal in mind.

  • my daughters’ growing up issue

    Friday
    Feb 6,2009

Now that my daughters grow up, I feel more uncomfortable knowing that they are mostly out to work, gimmicks, and parties. This does not include my eldest since she is always with her fiancé, whenever she goes. My worries are over with her, although sometimes there is besides I am still her mother.

My greatest worry now is my second daughter who is in college. This kid differs from her sister as she is very outgoing. She loves to go out in the night with her friends and goes home quite late. And you know there are lots of bad elements on the streets. What if somebody will attack her or something like that? That is the very reason, I bought self defense products so that she can protect herself in this circumstance. I can’t stop her from living her life, all I can do is to give her something that could help her.

  • Is it True? Dark Chocolate Kills Cholesterol

    Friday
    Feb 6,2009

is-it-true-dark-chocolate-kills-cholesterolStudy conducted and researchers focused on how eating dark chocolate impacts the human body. Can you spell yum? And apparently, it gets better: the results of the study show that chocolate with a high-cocoa content also contains a series of compounds generically known as plant flavoniods, which are documented to keep cholesterol from clogging up our blood vessels and thus help lower the risk of getting a blood clot.

Why is dark chocolate so much better than the regular varieties? The answer is in its composition. Dark chocolate contains a lot more cocoa than other forms of chocolate and modern chocolate manufacturing technologies show that modern dark chocolate retains up to 95% of its flavoniods, thus allowing us to indulge in its exquisite taste and get a healthy dose of anti-cholesterol substances into our bodies at the same time. Apparently, dark chocolate is also the best source of flavoniods on earth. Many people don’t realize that chocolate is plant-derived, as are the fruit and vegetables recommended for a healthy heart. Well then, it looks like there’s no turning back: we’re forced to eat dark chocolate every day!
