Maintaining blog is not only writing thoughts and ramblings. It is also a good way of checking online friends and saying my hellos to them. It makes feel better greeting them and knowing what is going on their life. Today, I have learned that one of my online buddies is on a vacation. Actually she just checks in, in a nearby New York City hotel just blocks away from her apartment. She is doing this every time boredom tries to engulf her. This is a nice way of relaxing. It costs less than having to travel somewhere far which of course gives another level of excitement. I’d better try that one.

Some parents remain sceptical about preschool. To them, preschools seem more like well-equipped drop-off kid centers. Yet play is the ideal and most fun way for kids to develop crucial academic and social skills. Here are some important things that kids learn in preschool:
- How to be a student. Rules and routines are designed to teach children the proper way to conduct themselves in a classroom. They also learn how to control their impulses.
- How to make friends. Preschools offers opportunities for building friendships and settling differences without the help of an adult. Kids learn how to approach others and be comfortable around them.
- How to be independent. Kids are encouraged to make more responsibility over themselves and their belongings. Early practice of self-care skills give them confidence in other situations.
- How to investigate and explore. Young children are natural scientists and they benefit from having plenty of opportunities for hands-on, self directed experimentation.
- How to ask for help. It’s not easy to work your way past 10 other kids to get to teacher when you need help. So it’s a must that preschoolers develop confidence and inner strength to speak up.
