Just like any other woman, I like sparkling things like jewelry. I already lost a necklace because I pawned it and I forget to reclaim it after several months. I feel bad because it is such a waste to lose that. My husband feels bad as well since it’s his gift to me. Though that happened, I still want to get a new one. I find a piece at Holsted Jewelers which provides exclusively designed jewelry, gifts and accessories.
Their designer jewelry is one of a kind and is not available in retail stores. All items went through strict quality-assurance guidelines to ensure every item is created to the highest standards, and then inspected twice before it is delivered. They have wide assortment, from tried-and-true classics to cutting-edge designs that fit any taste or budget. Everything sparkles just the way I like. Well, I just wait for my children to give me one for my birthday in November. It’s better to be early.
We know for the fact that these days, it is important for parents to educate themselves on what kids are doing on the web and to monitor their activity. According to the institution of pediatrics, children of all ages should be supervised on the Internet but it’s especially important to talk to your older children about the dangers of sharing personal information on the web, and about the ways in which they represent themselves online.
In fact, studies have found that 1 in 5 adolescents have been solicited over the Internet. And, a new study in the June edition of Pediatrics found that the more provocative an adolescent girl’s self-presentation online, the greater the chance she will be solicited. Many social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook allow members to post pictures and brief descriptions of themselves. Some sites allow them to create avatars, custom virtual identities in cartoon form.
Parents should talk to their teens about their online personas and explain the impact of their chosen representations. Even the cartoon avatars can be provocative. Adolescents are easy victims for Internet predators because they don’t always have the social sophistication to recognize when they are being targeted, or to handle the situation appropriately.
Even though my fourth child and youngest give me and my husband a headache when they fight one another for a turn in their computer, I still want to get one for them. My fourth child destroyed the CPU itself while my youngest destroyed the monitor. So, the only usable item left is the mouse and the keyboard. They are now requesting for a new one. Due to budget constraint their request will still take a while.
My husband is now scouting for affordable desktops. He even asked my future son-in-law for advice on the best model. Well, despite our anger towards my son for fighting one another, we can’t still say no to them totally. I guess no parent can endure their child’s request.
As I go through sites, I noticed that there are a lot of people talking about gold as an investment. Basically, buying gold has been recognized for centuries as one of the best ways to preserve one’s wealth and purchasing power. Gold bullion is a unique kind of investment. We all know that gold price always increase in value and never decrease.
It has a proven ability to diversify investments, protect wealth and preserve one’s purchasing power which makes it even more attractive. As an investment product, gold is available in coin or ingot form. Ingots are generally gold ingots of pure bullion cast in a convenient size and shape. Coins have a currency value or they are actually defined as ingots. Well, I am one of those people talking about investment now.
Nowadays, you can make a soap powder for your own laundry that is as effective as anything you can purchase and is not harmful for clothes, septic systems or pipes. All the ingredients except the essential oils are available at your local grocery.
4 cups grated Castile or glycerin soap, 6 cups borax, 8 cups baking soda. Mix together well and stir in 1 ½ TBSP essential oil of lavender or lemon. Or divide it in half and use both. Keep in a sealed container. Use about 1 good cup per load of wash. Unless you have babies and do lots of laundry, this should last about 6 months in the average household.
Lavender is a very useful herb and you would be wise to tuck plants here and there in every corner of your yard. Too many is not enough. It is soothing as an aromatic; flavorful for cooking; its antibacterial and antiseptic qualities make it a natural germ fighter.
I still have problems during mealtimes with my youngest son. He is such a picky eater and would rather cook his favorite food than eating the food that I prepared. He doesn’t like meat, fish and vegetable. He only eats egg and chicken. Plus, he will only eat if I will spoon-feed him. I don’t mind doing that besides I missed having a baby. But, I am too old for that so I spoil my youngest. The problem is that he never eats in school. His brings home his lunch pack just I prepare it. That is too frustrating for me. I don’t know how to convince him to eat it all. I am hoping that he will learn to eat all by himself especially when I am not around.
