Controlling Snails

Saturday

Controlling SnailsSnails are similar to slugs, but the main distinguishing feature is a large shell that the can draw up into if threatened. Snails come in a variety of colors including yellow, brown, gray, and black. They range in size from one fourth inch to a whopping ten inches long. The brown garden snail is one of the most destructive snails, feeding on young plants.

Collecting snails in a bucket of salt water will exterminate the pest, along with the traditional method which is to purchase commercial slug baits, but there are several successful organic methods as well. Try pouring a small amount of beer in a shallow container, such as a saucer. The slug is attracted to the beer and drowns. Also, try cutting an orange in half and hulling it out. Lay this in the garden with a small stick underneath the orange to give the slug an entrance place under this cool shaded slug home. Check now and then to see if anyone has checked in and evict him permanently. If you can’t stand to crush the guy, then just sprinkle some salt on him. Salt and slugs don’t mix. One last thing, mulch heavily with oak leaves. They don’t like that either.

a day without coffee is incomplete

a day without coffee is incompleteMy day is not complete without a cup or two of coffee in the morning. The aroma, taste and the sense of feeling “refreshed” after a cup of coffee brings pleasure to me and my husband. I could never go on without it; a day is not a day without it. I also pull through a cup during the night after dinner.

However, I just savor my coffee at home. I never spend money on fancy coffee shops. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t like to grab a cup from them. I just thought that it is much better to buy a Capresso coffee maker because I can enjoy my coffee whenever I want at lesser price.

Well, many said that it is rich with antioxidants that are good for our body. That if when drunk in moderation (four to five regular size cups a day). This amount is deemed safe for healthy adults and can even have beneficial health implications as part of a healthy diet and physically active lifestyle.

fixing the house

fixing the houseFor 29 years of being married to my one and only husband, I never face any problem in line with fixing the house. He will do everything like plumbing, fixing electric cable wires, installing showers and he even installed our air conditioning unit. I am really proud he can do so many manly things in the house.

Just like the service company I found that caters the greater Richmond Metropolitan area. Probably if I am living in that place, I just call plumber Richmond, VA to do the pluming instead of having hubby do it. Why not? Accordingly, they provide personalized service for both commercial and residential at affordable rates.

Plus, there are lots of laws in the US, installing air conditioning Richmond, VA area might be regulated. If there are laws in our country, we could have been in jail. Hubby is not an authorized person to do the installation. Hahaha! The same goes in installing heat pumps Richmond, VA area. It is easier to have the experts do their thing. Besides, it is not much of an expense as compared to getting a penalty from government institutions.

Well, I am not really familiar with the laws governing Richmond, VA area. But, all I know is that I have nothing to worry here. Just that we have to make sure that everything is in place to avoid unwanted events.

tips to get good sleepAre you getting very, very sleepy? You will be if you follow this tip. Conventional anti-insomnia pills work, but if you don’t want to lose sleep over side effects and potentially addictive ingredients, induce sleep-nosis with natural remedies instead.

  • Yoga Journal – yoga poses that help combat insomnia.
  • Schiff Knock-Out – triple-threat combo of known sleep aids melatonin and valerian, plus the calming tea extract theanine.
  • Bach Rescue Sleep – a few drops of this flower-based concoction before bedtime promotes relaxation.
  • Yogi Tea Bedtime Tea – sweet-tasting, with sleep-inducing organic chamomile, passionflower, skullcap, and valerian.
  • Before bedtime, avoid caffeine (at least 4 hours prior), big meals, and vigorous exercise but do exercise earlier in the day.

Doing these stuff will give you these benefits: A healthier sleep trance. These picks are non-addictive and don’t have the serious side effects that prescription aids do (such as reduced sex drive, sleepwalking, and vomiting – awesome). Another thing, this is an unconscious planet-helping. Fewer synthetic chemicals in your pills equal fewer that will eventually find their way into nature. And lastly, more cash for swinging pocket watches. Herbal options are cheaper than prescription sleep aids; 30-day supplies of prescription medicine can set you back $137 vs. less than $20 for natural remedies. So, what are you waiting for change it now!

can’t help myself from asking

can't help myself from askingI never wonder if my husband brings home some parts of printing machinery. It is his work so it is understandable that he would bring them back home. It doesn’t usually stay in the house for long because he will just fix it and bring them back to the shop.

But, to my surprise he brought home a motorcycle jack. He never owned a motorcycle after the tragic accident that almost cost his legs. I really wonder why. However, I don’t want to sound too inquisitive or nosy. He doesn’t like me to ask him so many questions.

As you can see, I can’t stop myself from asking my husband the reason. So, I gave it a shot. Thank goodness he answered me without going mad (points for me). As for the answer, I’ll just have to keep it to myself.

happy to learn something new

happy to learn something newThe truth is that I don’t really smoke neither is anyone in my family that is why I am not familiar with cigar brands. But, I have nothing against people who smoke because it’s their right. However, my or better yet our unfamiliarity with cigars was put to the test when my son’s exchange gift partner asked for Rocky Patel.

It is the first time we heard about it. Honestly I am so silly for thinking that it is a clothing line. I am still lucky for having internet at home. We searched for it in the web. And we all laugh as we find that it is a kind of cigars often use in movies. It’s a vintage kind of cigarette that has beautiful brown color wrapper. Yepey! :) I am happy for knowing it’s name. And we were able to order and it arrived just in time for the party.
