A Little Home Remedies for MumpsWe must know that children with mumps should not go to school, day care, or public places until 5 days after the salivary glands first start to swell. It is not generally necessary to separate a child from the family, because by the time mumps is diagnosed, most household members have already been exposed. So, here is some little home treatment for mumps:

  • Use acetaminophen for fever or headache. Do not give aspirin to anyone younger than 20 because its use has been linked to a rare but serious illness called Reye’s syndrome.
  • Place an ice or a heat pack, whichever feels better, on the swollen jaw if there is pain from the swelling. Place a light towel between the jaw and the ice pack or heat pack to protect the skin. Remove the pack after 20 minutes.
  • Place an ice pack intermittently on tender testicles. Gentle support may also be comforting and reduce swelling. See how to make and use an ice pack.
  • Suck on ice chips or flavored ice treats, such as Popsicles. Eat soft foods that do not require chewing.
  • Do not eat sour foods or sour liquids. Because infected salivary glands are extremely sensitive, it may be difficult to eat these foods.
  • If you or your child has mumps, call your local health department. The health department needs to record all cases of the illness. If you visit your doctor, he or she will report it for you.

  • some treasured gift

Ever since my daughter graduated from college, she used to give me gifts. I have been receiving bags, shoes, clothes, jewelry and groceries. She is a very kind and generous kid. Well, all my five kids are like that, but three of them are still studying and doesn’t earn money.

During my last birthday she gave me a beautiful yet affordable bag. It’s my treasured bag because of its sentimental value. I always value whatever my kids give no matter how cheap it is. Of course, bags have lifespan. After a couple of months, it has been torn out. I did not tell her that. I keep it myself.

Here’s the thing, I keep on looking for sturdy, beautiful and affordable bags. I have been doing this for quite some time now. I don’t know probably I am waiting for something like a bag. And just yesterday I found what I’ve been looking for, the TULA bags. The bags are made out of quality leather with a great variety of styles and colors. All I can say is that tula bags are perfect for my taste. (more…)

  • relaxing and having fun

In our lifetime, it is unavoidable to attend and enjoy the parties and drink alcoholic beverages as well. I think parties are just part of a person’s life to relax and have fun with friends, families and office mates. However, sometimes the fun goes into the head and forgets about everything that happens. Although drunk, some individuals still have the guts to drive down the road for whatever reason they can think off.

There is no problem if the person driving while under the influence still have a clearer understanding of traffic rules. And will be able to get home safe and sound. The problem only arises if the driver is so drunk that they already pose a threat to other motorist on the road.

Of course, there are lots of traffic cameras and police to handle such situations. It’s impossible to get away the chase. When caught DUI or OUI charges may be filed against that person. It could mean jail imprisonment, fines, lose of driving license, higher insurance rates, loss of jobs and a criminal record, everything will depend on the offenses made.

The only way to fight is with the help of massachusetts oui lawyer. They are the only ones that can explain the mitigating factors to the jury. But, be sure to choose a knowledgeable and experienced lawyer to fight the case. Both factors will be the determinant to winning or losing the case.

    window treatment options

These past few days, I kept on teasing my daughter for using her clothes as her curtains. She denied my allegations. But, every time I passed by their house I can clearly see several pants, shorts and so on. And finally, she pleads guilty. Hahaha! She said that she put a clothes hanger in that site to cover the window that welcomes the sunlight in and to give them a little privacy.

They have done this because they are not sure what to use to cover the window. They are considering two window treatment options: curtains and blinds. Speaking of which, I know of window treatments richmond, virginia. I have seen several high quality, elegant, beautiful plantation shutters richmond, virginia at MannKidwell.

The great thing about window blinds is that it gives a diverse amount of colors, which is great for everyone with different color schemes. With that, I think my daughter should consider getting blinds than curtains so that there is no way she could be seen changing clothes unlike curtains. This is just few of the many reasons why she should get blinds.

  • Spinning Air into Cash

Spinning Air into CashWith this hot weather looming, I’m sure all of us are looking for new ways to keep cool on the cheap, right? Well, string together a plan to stimulate your pocketbook, air circulation, and energy savings, simply by making sure your ceiling fan’s set to run counterclockwise. No sweater, isn’t it? Just remember that counterclockwise in the summer and clockwise in the winter.

Here are some benefits: Unbelievable bill savings. You’ll save up to 40% on A/C in the summer and 10% on heating in the winter by managing air flow with a ceiling fan (that’s up to $10/month). Another is more energy for scarf making. Most ceiling fans use only about as much power as a 100-watt incandescent bulb. And you can have comfier spinsters. Running your fan counterclockwise in summer directs air downward and creates a breeze; in the winter, running it clockwise will force cold air upward and warm air down to you.

  • practical and convenient wall

    Saturday
    Aug 1,2009

I remember somewhere around my blog, I mention my friend introducing me to a more practical and convenient walling system called Pressurized Walls. For people new to this system, it’s actually a temporary wall commonly used in New York City apartment where rental prices are so high. There are a number of benefits these walls have to offer. For one, it is less expensive as compared to traditional remodeling. Another is that it doesn’t need additional fasteners or adhesives to add stability to the frame work. It only screws are used on the stud to avoid structural or architectural damage, which is of course what landlords want. It is sturdy enough to stand with hanging pictures and mirrors on it. Plus, installation and removal is easy.

It is a very interesting wall system of course especially for small apartments. I think it also fits students who share small room to cut back expenses. I learn that CityWallNY with toll-free number 1-877-225-2239 produce these kind of walls. It is the company my friend contacted when she temporarily live in New York with his friend.

I just wonder if I can find a company like that here. My house needs additional room as my kids are speedily growing up and I want to give them privacy. I don’t want to jump to remodeling the house since we are just renting. I feel that my lessor is so lucky if I will be the one to do the renovation.
