Explaination of Miley Cyrus TattooAccording to the news, couple of weeks ago while working on her tan, Miley Cyrus managed to get her name in the media again, this time, without actually meaning to do so. Her pink two-piece swimsuit revealed a small tattoo on her ribcage, reading “Just Breathe.” In the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the singer and actress explains the meaning behind the new ink.

The issue of how Miley dresses and whether she should get a tattoo or not have long been debated in the media, with some inclining to believe she should be more careful about such things because of her young following and her status as a role model. The tattoo, though, was never meant to be seen by the world or, more importantly, as some act of rebellion against whatever, she says in the interview.

“The script handwriting is her mother’s, and the meaning is significant: One of Miley’s closest friends died of cystic fibrosis in 2007, and both of her grandfathers died of lung cancer. ‘It reminds me not to take things for granted, I mean, breathing – that was something none of them could do, the most basic thing,’ she says. ‘And I put it near my heart because that is where they will always be’”.

“My job is to be a role model, and that’s what I want to do, but my job isn’t to be a parent. My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I’m still figuring that out for myself. So to take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes whether I do or not. That’s just life,” Miley added.
