trying to learn new technologies

Monday
Oct 3,2011

Recently, I’m trying to learn new technologies because I don’t want to be left out like other oldies out there. Actually, it’s my children that motivate me to do so. They don’t want me to get stuck up as unknowledgeable about simply technology like social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. I’m glad I tried it because I enjoyed connecting to lots of people. I was able to get in touch with my friends and relatives. It was the place I get to learn that my niece is taking up a cosmetology course in preparation to work abroad. Without it, I will never know about it.

Whenever I speak of cosmetology I constantly remember the cosmetology school of Regency Beauty Institute. Regency is the fastest growing beauty school in the country, which already has 80 (and counting) campuses across 19 US states. They bring unique approach to cosmetology education by emulating upscale salons and providing an exceptional education that benefits the students, the salon community, and the public. As part of their training, students provide high-quality, discounted salon services to the public under expert faculty supervision. Currently, Regency graduates are recognized and sought after throughout the United States.

  • xmas present for hubby

Christmas is soon coming. If you may not know it, I love this occasion a lot because it’s the celebration of the birth of Christ. It’s a really festive occasion where everybody becomes giving to one another. The streets are lighted with colourful Christmas lights that create good mood. In most homes, Christmas trees can be seen with presents underneath to be shared on the day.

For this year, I want to purchase one of those Bluray players as my Christmas present for hubby. I don’t really give him anything on Christmas before because of tight financial budget. But, I’m a little relaxed after my third child graduated from college. So, I have spare money for other things. I thought this player is perfect since he continually talks and have been keeping an eye on it. Well, let’s just see if I really end up giving him this or I might discover other stuff for him.

A few months ago, certain part of the US experienced a bad case of storm. Well, it’s really a bad case and lots of family were affected. A lot lost their houses, but only few lost a life that’s thanks to the underground storm shelters and evacuation of the government. Lives were saved because of the preparedness of everybody.

That is the reason, I’m thinking of putting one in our house. Actually, we don’t experience storm in our area. But, it would be better to be prepared, right? At least having an escape plan in case of calamities can give better chances of survival unlike not having one. It’s not just for me, but for the rest of my family as well. It’s their safety that I’m after.

    exploring the world of school

One of my grandnieces is now ready to explore the world of school. Her mom is now preparing her and is helping her learn things by decorating the house in a playful, but educating manner. She is really busy designing the room of her little kid. She isn’t like that to her two sons; I guess she is much excited over the girl.

Anyway, I also wanted to give a cute kids farm stool I found in the web. There are plenty of step stools available from bunnies, cows, to pigs. It would be a charming addition to any child’s room or bathroom. She can also pass the stool to her other kids because what I found is hand-carved and hand-painted the details. The handy storage under the top step allows this to double as a toy chest. Well, I’m pretty sure both she and my grandniece will love it.

the only thing I can do for him

The only student I have now is being overwhelmed with the number of homework and projects he is assigned to. I see that coming after he chose to enroll in the honor section of the school. I let him decide which section he wants to go to after passing the exam. Without hesitation, he opts for the honors class, which is now giving him quite a hard time. Despite that I can feel he is enjoying every minute of it that’s why I did not interfere.

Anyway, the only thing I can do for him now is to show my support through giving him everything he needs. Speaking of which, I remember that I should buy toner cartridges online since the printer runs out of ink. I’m sure he will have lots of printing needs this month so I could not afford to let the printer gone dry. I guess that’s it for now, I should get hurry and find an affordable cartridge the soonest.

    thinking a gift for myself

In two months time, I will be celebrating my 51st birthday. As early as now, I’m already thinking of purchasing a gift for myself. I have few in mind, but I think I will stick to jewelry. I always love to wear fine accessories even before I’m young. It’s just so happens my finances aren’t enough to buy lots of it or better yet I don’t have money for it. So, I go for fashion accessories to avoid huge expenses. Still, I end up not buying it to make both ends meet.

However, times have change nowadays. I feel like it’s time for me to loosen up and give back to myself. I learned about customizing mothers rings, which is perfect. I like something that is unusual or extraordinary, a ring that is only made for me. Good thing I found a place that does this. All I need to do now is to save money for it until my birthday.
