Fighting Stress in Easy Way

Friday
Jun 12,2009

fighting-stress-in-easy-wayWe are constantly stressed and it seems that no matter what we do to alleviate it we always comes back to take a toll on our life because everything tends to move faster in today’s world. The solution out of this predicament would be try to take things slower, one step at a time but since it would be impossible to do so without falling behind, dedicating some time to ourselves on a daily basis may work just as well.

Taking a long relaxing bath, they say nothing beats getting home and drawing a nice scented bath to unwind. Gym can also do relaxing and fighting stress. Yoga, stretching, and even Pilates are ideal in this sense, because they do not focus on burning fat or building muscle mass, but rather on achieving inner balance.

If we are speaking of feeling better nothing does that as laughter does. As we noted before, laughter is the most convenient and fun ally we have against old age and feeling down. Spending time with friends we have not seen in a long while or simply doing something we truly like, are just some of the things that are guaranteed to bring a smile on our face.

My daughter, though she is not that big, is continually looking for the best diet method. She has this idea in mind that she gained so much weight for the past year. My mind tells me that dieting or losing weight does not fit her, but it fits me well. I think she has the right weight for her size. But, I am way beyond my desirable weight.

As I go through sites searching for anything interesting, I have read an article regarding green tea and its benefits. Well, it says that green tea is an effective weight loss ingredient which stimulates metabolism and oxidizes fat cells. I also learn that Lipovox a weight loss pill consist of caffeinated green tea together with other super foods and antioxidant. Another great important ingredient is the Cayenne Pepper which is great for burning body fat at a much higher rate. There are other ingredients that require me to do a little more research. But, I find this product very interesting.

little-tips-to-avoid-back-painsAlmost all people spend more than eight hours a day in front of a computer and other two or three hours are added at night, in front of the TV. With us doing so much sitting and increasingly less physical activity, it’s no wonder that our backs are killing us, which is why we should move as much as we can while we’re sitting to prevent the pain from kicking in. The best way to do this is by buying an unstable chair.

Contrary to popular belief, most back injuries happen due to inactivity, rather than excessive activity. The discs between each vertebra in your back have no blood supply of their own, but rely on movement to maintain their health. Each minute movement of the body allows them to suck in fluid and secrete waste products. So, whereas a rigid chair discourages any type of movement, those with springs, wheels or flexible backs force us to balance on them, thus moving constantly, even if we’re unaware of it most of the time. Another tip is to get up from the chair every half an hour – even if it’s just to get a glass of water.

tips-for-housewife-to-have-a-resting-sleepI’m sure all moms like me well agree that we live in such a very hectic and stressful lives that the only moments we get entirely to ourselves are while we sleep – or so we might think. As it happens, we often take most of our worries and problems to bed, which prevents us from getting a restful night slumber. This, in turn, means that our health is suffering from the lack of rest but, happily, there are a couple of housewife tricks that should work wonders for us and, at the same time, help us wake up in the morning feeling refreshed.

    • Having routine, this must be the one of the oldest rules in the book that have its benefits, at least in what regards our sleeping habits. Keeping late hours and a hectic schedule may sound like a lot of fun when we’re still young, but by the time we reach our early ’30, we all feel as if this simply does not cut it anymore and we’re constantly tired. To avoid this from happening, it’s best if we kept regular hours, both for bedtime and for waking up in the morning, with an 8-hour interval dedicated solely to sleep.
    • Eliminating stress from our life is yet another housewife trick that can’t but come in handy. It may sound like an impossible feat to achieve, but the least we can do is to “program” our mind to think of work or other problems we may have as little as possible before going to bed. This is why the bedroom should be a place where we only sleep – no computer, no TV, and definitely no paperwork. If a good book does not work with taking our mind off daily problems, a glass of warm milk might.
    • Cutting down on caffeine, this is the purpose of eliminating stress. While few are those who can still function throughout the day without it, it’s highly recommended that no caffeine drinks be consumed after lunch. This means not only coffee, but also carbonated soft drinks, all of which should be avoided lest they make us agitated and hyper-active. However, if for one reason or another we simply can’t help ourselves, then a walk a couple of hours before bedtime should be more than enough to drain us of energy and prepare our body for a resting sleep.

Benefits of Cooking Your Own Food

    Saturday
    Apr 18,2009

benefits-of-cooking-your-own-foodIt is a fact that society nowadays is moving at a markedly faster pace than it used to do years ago, so it’s only natural that most of us rarely find the time to stay indoors and cook a family dinner. Aside from that this alters our life in ways we probably do not even acknowledge at the moment, it is also taking its toll on our health. This is why nutritionists advise us to try to make our dinner at least once a week, if it’s not possible to do on a daily basis.

Setting a day for the home-made dinner and holding to it no matter what is the easiest way to stick to this healthy resolution. This is also one of the best ways to avoid processed foods and the intake of unhealthy fats usually found in fast food. It will also give us more freedom, both in terms of taste and in terms of quality, because it’s a well-known fact that there is no better food than a home-cooked meal.

With this in mind, there should be virtually nothing stopping us from enjoying the many benefits of a home-cooked meal at least once a week. It doesn’t take a cooking degree to make soup or rice with vegetables.
