It’s indeed a fine Tuesday morning. It gives me energy to get some work done; washing dishes, cleaning the house and doing the laundry. I’m a plain housewife so that’s the kind of work I’m talking here. Anyway, I think I will be able to finish early. In that case, I have spare time to blog. It’s been a while since I go online that’s why I really miss it a lot.
Before anything else, I would like to talk about the Topamax lawsuit. I ran across this topic while doing my rounds of blog visit. Topamax is an anti-convulsant used to treat epileptic seizures in children and adults, and is also prescribed to prevent migraine headaches. However, the use of it can result in cleft lip or cleft palate – birth defects that occur when the lip or palate fail to completely fuse together. The defect can result in a small, notched lip or in extreme cases, an open groove that extends from the roof of the mouth to the nose.
At O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath, their attorneys understand that your child’s injuries may not be your fault – instead, possibly a dangerous side-effect of Topamax. Their expertise and experience, combined with their highly trained staff, make them uniquely well-equipped to handle even the most complex products liability claims.

A month ago, my daughter went home after suffering a panic attack. The attack may have been caused by her insomnia that is already making her life a hell for a week. She has an intense fear that she can no longer sleep and may get sick in the process. Her decision to go home helped her to calm down for at least on that day. She said it was the first time she encountered such intensely frightening, upsetting and uncomfortable experience.
But, nine days later and still she did not totally recover from it that is when she decided to seek professional help and was prescribed the use of Xanor Alprazolam after a series of lab test. However, the three tablets which are 250mcg each did help her. But, she went back for more. The doctor prescribed few more at least ten tabs. Good thing she did not take them all after she feels better and was able to sleep at night.
Basically, benzodiazepines like Alprazolam have beneficial effects if used properly. It is indeed prescribed only for short-term relief of sleep problems because of the development of tolerance and risk of addiction. However, some people misused for recreational purposes and develop addiction. Dependence to benzodiazepines can be problematic and may have life-threatening complications when it is reduced or stopped because of withdrawal. Discontinuing the use of the drug should go to benzodiazepines detox addiction treatment under the supervision of a physician. The experts know that treatment dose must be gradually tapered. Inpatient or outpatient counseling can help the individual during this process.
In a study with family life from within, as it were, our attention came to focus some years ago upon certain forms of family behavior which were so recurrent as to suggest the term habit and yet which had additional aspects or features not usually associated with that term. They were habits, plus.
Upon close examination, the plus included two things. First, the repetition had to be exact. It isn’t enough to do the thing about or approximately the same way each time; it has to be done exactly the same way. Second, this exact repetition is accompanied by a definite sense of approval. This is the right, the proper, way.
We came finally to designate these habits plus as family rituals, and we defined them as patterns of family life, noticeable for their precise repetition, even to the point of becoming quite rigid, like a rite or ceremony in religious worship.
Rituals are of many different kinds. They grow out of the family’s collective experience, and may develop in connection with almost any aspect of family life. Most of them, however, cluster around holidays, anniversaries, meals, vacations, religious worship, entertainment, and group ways of using leisure time. Often they are a heritage from the preceding generation, modified perhaps to fit into altered circumstances.
Character is a set of qualities, or values, that shape our thoughts, actions, reactions and feelings. People with strong character show compassion are honest and fair display self-discipline in setting and meeting goals make good judgments, show respect to others show courage in standing up for beliefs have a strong sense of responsibility are good citizens who are concerned for their community maintain self-respect.
While, compassion or empathy, means identifying with and being concerned about other people’s feelings and needs. It provides the emotional root for caring about other people. It allows us to be understanding and tolerant of different points of views and beliefs, it makes us aware of the suffering of others, and it allows us to empathize with them or to feel their suffering as our own. Compassion also allows us to feel joy and excitement – rather than anger and despair – at other people’s successes and achievements.
Babies may begin to cry when they hear other sounds of crying, and coo and laugh when they hear others making happy sounds. By the age of three, many children will make an effort to hug or comfort another child or a parent who seems upset. As children grow, compassion can guide their actions and behaviors in positive ways. They understand that by doing something wrong, they cause others pain or unhappiness. (more…)
Parents tend to want to do what is best for their children, including breast feeding their infants. While it can be uncomfortable to do in a public setting, the bond between child and mother grows tremendously when the baby eats from its mother’s breast. In addition to strengthening the bond between parent and child, there are many medical benefits associated with breastfeeding. Discover now some of the medical benefits of breastfeeding your baby such as:
Research studies have found that the first milk your body produces contains immune factors that guard against germs by forming a protective lining on your baby’s mucous membranes in the intestines, throat, and nose. This is why it is important for mother to start nursing her child directly after birth.
Breastfeeding your baby helps protect your infant child from gastrointestinal trouble as well as respiratory problems and ear infections. Many research studies have been conducted around the world and have concluded fewer diarrheas, less ear infections, and fewer respiratory illnesses in children who have been breastfed. Women involved in the research studies breastfed their babies exclusively for at least the first six months. This means the baby consumed breast milk only, no solid food. (more…)
A lot of students struggle with academic work in today’s education institutions. The root of the problems may stem from larger class sizes, lack of individual attention or difficulty keeping up with fellow students. Give these students hope, and earn extra income, by starting a home-based tutoring business.
While professors and those with highly-regarded degrees are often top picks for tutors, expertise doesn’t necessarily guarantee patience with struggling pupils and applications of commendable teaching methods. Those who have backgrounds in child care, experience working with special education students, or even patient moms who have certainly put their time in helping their children with after school homework sessions would also be exceptional candidates for establishing a home based tutoring business.
