The next time your small fry wants a party for his gang, don’t be scared of a rough house. Just answer, certainly. Then make it an early evening party, invite his friends and their parents. Include all small brothers and sisters. You will have quite a crowd, we will admit, but we can guarantee that if you plan your games right, you will have a party that will be long remembered not only by your young son but his friends and their parents as well.

The secret of the success of such a party is, of course, to have games that all ages can enter into, and you would be surprised how many such games there are. A good opener for such a party is the Nose Game. Hang an old sheet in an open doorway. Tacks stuck into the top of the doorjamb don’t show and will hold a substantial cord. Then fasten big safety pins into the top edge of the sheet and pin them over the cord. This makes a very satisfactory draw curtain. In the sheet make two slits, one big enough for an adult to stick his nose through, the other a suitable height for the shorter guests. (This curtain can be prepared ahead of time and drawn across the doorway for this one game.)

Gather all the women on the back side of the curtain. Then ask the men if they are sure they can recognize their own wives. They will be very confident of their ability.

Warn the children not to help their Dads. Then have each woman take a turn at sticking her nose through the slit in the sheet. It is surprisingly difficult for a man, no matter how long he has been married, to recognize his wife by her nose. After the choosing is completed let the women join the men who have claimed them. Most of the men will have some other fellow’s wife.

Then hustle the kids behind the sheet. Make the men pick their own kids don’t let the women help. Mothers have washed those faces so often they are better choosers than the men. One father of four children at a recent party of ours wound up with claiming only one of his four offspring the other three proved to belong to some of the other guests. But then no one had his own family intact. (more…)

  • can’t live without it

    Friday

Okay, it’s true I can live without the diet products I love to buy. But, I can’t live without my anti-wrinkle creams like renuvie with me. It’s the only thing that I will not give up, despite anything unless if we are already talking about food. But, if it’s something else, I would definitely go for the anti-wrinkle cream.

A day is incomplete without splattering a cream in my face before bedtime and in the morning. It’s one habit I don’t want to miss because it gives me confidence that my skin is in better condition. I’m a middle age woman so I can’t rely on myself anymore. It’s most likely better getting help from anti-aging products to still look at my best. Of course, I’m aware that it’s not magic bullet that I will look like a 30 year old woman. I’m already satisfied not to look older than my age.

Oh my! The shoes I mentioned in my May 19 post finally arrived yesterday. I’m so happy that it’s the same design that I wanted. It is really cute and it fits my feet perfectly well. My daughter does have a sense of my style when it comes to shoes. But, it seems difficult to sport it with my current size. The shoes are really amazing that when I wear it would feel awkward.

I keep on saying before that I will start using weight loss products like lipozene diet pill, but I never did. I just have some issues over spending my money on those products. Don’t get me wrong, I do believe that there are products that are effective. The thing is, I don’t have extra money for that matter. It’s indeed quite tough not to have spare cash for the things I like to buy. So, that’s the main reason I’m still far away from my desired size. But, I’m still determined to wear the shoes my daughter gave me.

  • tormenting headache

    Thursday
    May 19,2011

These past few days the heat of the sun is taking a toll in my health. It’s giving me a bad case of headache. Just this morning while hanging the laundry to dry outside, the hotness is really terrible. But, I have to bear it to dry the clothes. Then, now I’m suffering from this tormenting headache. I’m still lucky it’s not migraine though. Popping one tablet of paracetamol combined with some rest and I will be fine.

Speaking of migraine, I’ve learned Topamax is also a prescribed medicine to prevent migraine headaches. But, it is mainly used to treat epileptic seizures in children and adults. The only problem is that continued use may have side-effects. It can result in cleft lip or cleft palate – birth defects that occur when the lip or palate fail to completely fuse together. The defect can result in a small, notched lip or in extreme cases, an open groove that extends from the roof of the mouth to the nose.

If something like this happens, the aggrieve party can file Topamax lawsuit. The attorneys of O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath understand that the child’s injuries may not be the parent’s fault – instead, possibly a dangerous side-effect of Topamax. Their expertise and experience, combined with their highly trained staff, make them uniquely well-equipped to handle even the most complex products liability claims.

  • dreams that I want to fulfill

    Sunday
    May 15,2011

I do remember the time I mentioned somewhere in this blog about my intentions towards finishing a beauty course. Even if I am already old, I still have some dreams that I want to fulfill. Lots of people say I don’t really need it, but it’s for self-satisfaction. But, I hesitate because nobody seemed to care that’s why I drop the idea.

But, after my third child graduated my eldest remind me of it. As excited as I am, I instantly look for beauty schools nearby. Before, I discover the nearest beauty school in town I came across the Kansas City beauty school of Regency Beauty Institute.
