Feasibly you are concerned about the safety of your child online, you are not alone! There are millions of kids that use the internet as a way to communicate. And all of these kids have parents that are worried about predators that may be lurking online. The best way to avoid these predators, and keep your child safe, is by giving them tips that they can follow when talking to other people online. Some tips that you can give your kids are as follows:
Babies don’t just wake up one day and start walking. There’s a natural progression from rolling over, to sitting up, to scooting, to crawling, to pulling up to walking. Teaching your baby to walk easily depends on her mastering those first steps.
When your baby starts to become mobile, it’s important to make sure that your home is a safe environment. Inspect your home to prevent your child from getting hurt on sharp corners, ledges, and stairs while you’re teaching your baby to walk.
You may also be tempted to head to the store and purchase a walker. However, when you’re teaching your baby to walk it’s important not to use a walker. They can be dangerous and can cause accidents and injuries.
When you’re teaching your baby to walk, you may want to rush out and buy the perfect pair of shoes. However, recent research suggests that babies actually learn to walk better when they’re not wearing shoes. So save your money and teach your baby to walk without the little tennis. If you want your child to wear shoes, that’s okay, too. Just be aware that they won’t make it easier for your baby to walk.
If you’re going to buy shoes, follow a few simple rules of thumb. When you teach your baby to walk, you must make sure that his shoes are going to help instead of hurt. Look for shoes with flexible soles and flat bottoms. Pass up the high-tops and go for a shoe that allows your baby’s ankle to move. Also check your baby’s shoe size frequently to make sure he hasn’t outgrown them. (more…)
Recommended ages are an inaccurate gauge when, at Christmas, or any great occasion, we need to buy presents for our children. A child can be smarter then another having the same age; he will be bored playing with toys meant for his age group. At the opposite side of this problem, a child can learn slower than his age peers; he will be overwhelmed receiving gifts meant for his age group. The evident conclusion is that we must consider the individual’s mental and emotional level.
Maybe the best gift we can purchase is the one suitable for a large range of ages. Their level of difficulty can be adjusted. The Leapfrog reading system is a suitable gift for any group of ages. Its reading system is suitable for ages from four to twelve. A child having Leapfrog can play with it for many years, without the smaller boring sign. The Leapfrog reading system is a model for any other gifts we need to purchase for our children. Maybe you will consider some online music training?
Perhaps people can believe that board games are a thing of the past. You will be surprised to see the entire family spending time sitting down together and playing a board game. If you have pleasant memories about some board games from your childhood, don’t hesitate to buy some similar gifts for your children. Life, Monopoly or Payday can be the main attraction for your entire family. The children will learn to count money and spend it wisely; you will remember the happy moments of your childhood. A board game will be always a very good choice for your children gifts. (more…)
We do not mean to make a long list of plans up to your child’s marriage, although it is wise to plan at least a couple years in advance. The best place to start is in the beginning, gradually thinking and adding important aspects in your newborns life.
When you are unprepared many shocking experiences will come, and you will panic and not know how to deal with it appropriately, parenting plans will ensure you have thought out any possible occurrence happening, and already decided how to handle that particular situation.
Instead of spending your life disagreeing and bashing heads with your child, create a parenting plan, implement it and relax with knowing that you are prepared for any kind of situation that may pop up. Being a parent is one of the most thrilling incidents that happen to you, you want to make sure you do it right, you only get one chance.
Some toys are over hyped and others that I quite like are never advertised. When I see new toys or the kid wants something she saw on TV, I usually ask myself “What can this toy be used for” and “How long will it keep the kid interested.” The last question I sometimes never ask, cause I never get that far is “Does the toy teach anything or does it build imagination or some other characteristic.”
These three questions, hopefully will give me an idea about the usefulness and longevity of the new toy. If the toy passes the first two questions, then it is into the realm of learning. Some toys never make it this far, they are just ornaments. I don’t look at the safety aspect as most toys are safe, but I am careful with little bits and pieces.
For the first question I think about what you can do with the toy. Whether you can play alone or with friends. Can it be used with other toys to do other things, or is it a one hit wonder. As an example we will use the Star Wars Darth Vader Mask. This little toy is very popular because of the film, but I think its usefulness is very limited. You could use it in pretend play but how long will that last. I would say this type of toy is used for sharing, a sort of play and share toy to see who can come up with the most outrageous line. It is not really the type of toy you could play with by yourself.
For the second question I think this toy would be discarded quite early, as there seems to be very little to keep the kid amused. Once you have said your few lines what do you then. Then again there are all the accessories to buy to go with the mask, like the clothes and boots. The money is in the accessories these days. Unless your kid wants to be an actor I would not get around to asking the third question. (more…)
We know that having kids means having dirty floors from time-to-time, having less money, repeating ourselves and feel wiped out a lot of the time. Normally, we all handle the responsibilities of parenting with a smile but occasionally we just don’t think, or, at that particular moment, do not care.
After we have said our peace, we typically catch ourselves and wish we would have said it differently. We will NEVER be perfect parents and we should not berate ourselves for our mistakes, but, we should try to teach the children by giving them clear and precise directions without personal attacks.
It is important to send a message to your children that you are correcting a situation not criticizing the child. Children hear demands and negatives as threatening. Children need to hear what they are doing wrong and how to correct the situation. Children internalize messages similar to us adults. They feel hurt when they are chastised and although our job, as parents, is to teach our children, we need to be careful the message they are receiving.
Most of us get tired of repeating ourselves. When we feel we have said it enough times, whether it be that particular day or this is the same song we have sang too many times, we get frustrated and our tempers can begin to flare. Sending the wrong message can do more damage. Children will shrink from harsh words rather than resolve the situation.
